Greaux Blue is McNeese State University's crowdfunding platform and connects McNeese supporters with projects that are important to them. Greaux Blue is a new addition that makes it easy for donors to give, see real-time project status and share their support.
McNeese students, faculty and staff share their passion through crowdfunding projects and hope to turn their idea into reality with the help of alumni, family and friends.
Greaux Blue is similar to "Geaux Blue" which encourages everyone in the Southwest Louisiana region and beyond to wear blue on Fridays to show their McNeese pride. The McNeese Foundation and McNeese State University invite everyone to get involved by giving and helping McNeese greaux!
Who can apply for a crowdfunding project?
Any McNeese State University department, faculty member, sport or student organization may make a request to conduct a crowdfunding project.
Who will be in charge of a crowdfunding project?
The department, sport or student organization wishing to conduct a crowdfunding project will have a designated project leader. The project leader and their team members will be responsible for all aspects of the project including writing content, uploading pictures and video, sharing updates and donor relations.
What makes a Greaux Blue project successful?
The more passionate you are about the project, the better! A project will be successful with dedicated time and effort and specific details outlining what you are wanting to accomplish. Communication with donors and potential donors is crucial to the crowdfunding process. Successful projects typically last 30-45 days with goals to raise $500 to $10,000.
How do I submit a request for a crowdfunding project?
Submit an online application at: https://greauxblue.mcneese.edu/submit-application. The McNeese Foundation will review your request and contact you to discuss your project. If your project is approved, McNeese Foundation staff members will provide training and resources to the project leaders.
Please Note
The McNeese Foundation will deduct 10% of funds raised through Greaux Blue as an administrative fee. The administrative fee will assist in covering the annual crowdfunding service subscription cost and credit card processing fees. Once the subscription cost is covered, it is possible for fundraising projects to receive a rebate at the end of the year.
Greaux Blue is the official crowdfunding platform for McNeese State University. Alumni and friends of McNeese can support student and departmental projects, faculty research, athletics and other activities that contribute to the growth and well-being of the University.
Yes! The amount of the contribution that is deductible for federal income tax purposes is limited to the excess of any money (and the value of any property other than money) contributed by the donor over the fair market value of goods or services provided by the charity. Please contact your tax professional to determine your tax deduction.
Yes. You will receive an email receipt for your contribution shortly after you make your gift.
Your credit card will be processed immediately when you make your gift through Greaux Blue.
